I have a lot of love for pale purple tones at the moment, which hasn’t happened since I was 12 and it was all the rage to paint your bedroom in the most sickly pale lilac colour. I’m not going to go that overboard, but instead I love a hint of lavender against another colour to tone it down. Now that ‘millennial blush’ has well and truly had its day, it’s all about the dusty purple. Plus it’s perfect for spring. These are my favourite ways to style with it…
Lilac + Mustard
I’m loving mustardy hues at the moment, and for a bold and bright look lilac works beautifully for a spring/summer vibe! This has got me wanting to go out and buy a whole new set of cushions (which I really don’t need). Image sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Dusty Purple + Dark Green/Teal
This is for sure my favourite colour combination at the moment… the deep, moody green/blues stop the lilac from being too sweet. It’s a beautiful and unusual combination. Image sources: 1, 2, 3, 4.
Mauve + Navy
Similar to above, this is a slightly more classic and smart pairing. You can’t really go wrong with indigo with most colours and it’s no different with pale purple.
Lavender + Warm Neutrals
Style lavender with natural materials in neutral tones like linen, pale wood and off-white and it gives a beautiful beachy, tranquil style. It works better with more washed-out purples with a concrete hue.
